What is environmental stress?
What are the sources of environmental stress?
What is the effect of environmental stress on us?
How to attain harmony?
THE EFFECT ON USA) Hazards of Electro-magnetic fields.
- Adults who were routinely exposed to high EMFs at work can have a significantly increase in chance of dying of cancer, when compared to other workers.
- People exposed to power-line EMFs (60-Hz fields) over 2 mg have a greater risk of cancer.
- EMF exposures have been found to alter the production of a class of critical hormones called neurotransmitters that carry nerve impulses from the brain across the cell membranes.
- Plant and animal cell studies reported changes in the chromosomes - i.e. - chromosomal aberrations or chromosomal breaks when exposed to EMFs.
- When exposed to EMFs, studies have reported decreased protein kinase activity in human lymphocyte cells suggesting in suppression of the immune system.
- Inhibition of Melatonin (which is produced by pineal gland) causes disturbed biological clock. It can contribute to depression, severe mood changes, and certain psychiatric disorders.
- Studies have reported increases in miscarriage and birth defects as a result of exposure to fields.
B) Environmental illness
Environmental illness is a disease process primarily triggered by environmental over-exposure; examples are - asbestosis, mercury poisoning, and formaldehyde sensitivity.
There are physical factors like weather changes, chemical factors - like lead, mercury, formaldehydes, pesticides and biological factors like harmful fungi & bacteria, etc., responsible for environmental illness.
Chemical sensitivity is an environmental illness. This occurs because of toxic chemicals (exposure to) either in air, water or food.
Early signs are unexplained weakness, temperature intolerance, skin symptoms, swelling of eyes, hand or feet; one's judgement and perception may be subtly impaired, memory loss, irritability, sluggishness after meals, extreme fatigue, intolerance to medication and alcohol. Joint and muscle aches and pains, unexplained heart irregularities, bloating and gas, recurrent respiratory and throat infections and food intolerances.
C) Sick Building Syndrome
New carpets, which are treated with a range of chemicals, can give very extreme reactions in people who are chemically sensitive - like headaches, rashes and burning feeling in lungs. Also in air-conditioned rooms, because of high levels of harmful bacteria and chemicals, there is very high chance of suffering from sick building syndrome.
D) Radiation Sickness
Fifty years have passed since the first atom bomb explosion, and there are too many nuclear reactors, collecting very high level of radioactive material, not knowing how to neutralize it and accidents like Chernobyl has increased the amount of radiation on this planet. And it has a very bad, destructive effect on the energy field, subtle bodies and at the physical level one can see more mutations and altered genetic structure. Also some foods are irradiated.
E) Multiple Allergies
As we are exposed to very high number of allergens, our immune system is at a loss to recognize these substances and how to handle them, has caused now innumerable allergies.
F) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
This is still partly a mystery, as to what is the cause of it. It has been recognized by many names and the victims are constantly figuring out new sources of their trouble. Total disharmony in the environment is responsible for it.
