Are You Depressed ?

Do you feel sad? Do you often use the words 'I am in no mood to do this or that?' Do you feel yours moods change often? Are you feeling down in the morning? Do you feel tired most of the time? Do you complain of lack of energy in your routine day-to-day activities? Is your sleep disturbed? Have you lost interest in life? Do you no more obtain pleasure from the simple activities of life? Do you suffer from lack of or loss of self-confidence? Is a feeling of guilt troubling you? Have you slowed down in all your movements? Are you excessively restless these days? Is your appetite lost? Have you lost interest in food? Have you noticed that your concentration is poor these days? Have you lost desire for sex? Have you either gained a lot of weight or lost it significantly? Is you self-esteem staying lowest these days? Do you get unexplained aches and pains all over your body? Do you have aversion to meeting people or attending social functions? Do you smoke or drink excessively these days?

If you have some of these symptoms, you might be suffering from depression. Depression often presents itself as many different mental/emotional or physical symptoms. There is often a lack of awareness, on the part of the person who is suffering, about this condition. Often relatives notice this change in behaviour.

There is a vacant look in the eyes of the person who is depressed. Eye contact is poor, dark circles deepen and there is no shine on the face, and a smile is very rare, often filled with sadness.

Depression can be classified as

  1. Conscious Depression; Depression from known causes

  2. Sub-conscious depression, Depression from unknown causes.

A specialist health practitioner usually diagnoses this kind of depression.

  1. When causes are known, there is clear-cut history suggesting a reason. Example ? a student, who failed in his exam, is now depressed. A woman, who recently lost her child, is now suffering from depression because of the emptiness she experiences in her life.

  2. Depressions from unknown causes are difficult to explain. The symptoms appear suddenly as if from nowhere. There could be triggering factors in the environment; which might touch upon some long buried sad memories of the past, which may spill over this time, causing depression. However the person suffering is mostly unaware of the reason. It is sad to see someone depressed. Most of us do go through ups and downs in life, but we recover well. But some are very slow, unable to overcome depression. The flower remedies that are helpful for such persons are

  • Formula No. 5

  • Radish Flower

  • SR No. 41 this is a new anti depressant that covers wide range of causes and also treats anxiety and apprehensions.

  • SR No. 4 Cheerfulness & Happiness

It is often observed how the look of a person changes on taking the flower remedies for a while. The spark in the eyes returns, the smile is very genuine and the person is bubbling with energy. One just knows? That the depression is gone.

Question Time

Q : What are Affirmations?
A : Affirmations are the positive sentences that are given with flower energy essences for a person to use to affirm that very quality in mind while taking the essence. Example, while taking Neem Flower Energy Essence, it is beneficial to repeat the words ' I love & accept unconditionally. I am loved and accepted unconditionally'. These affirmations are nothing but the messages of flowers. If we have ability to directly tune into energies of flowers, it is likely that we may receive the same message as affirmation. Affirmations have to be used gently. The flower energy essence will give the necessary energy to acquire the healing quality of the flower. Another example is Swallow wart flower energy essence given to overcome fears in subconscious mind. The affirmation useful is 'I am full of courage and confidence'. If the affected person is a small child, the mother or father can repeat the same affirmation to the child while he is going to sleep. The child is very receptive in sleep to positive suggestions.
