Are You Sensitive ?


We may have come across people who say: "I am very sensitive." Or, "I am sensitive to energies".

I have a friend who moved to a smaller town ten years ago. Whenever she visits the city, she feels overwhelmed, tired and drained by the noise, pollution, crowd, and other stressful 'energies' of the city. Living in a small town, has developed her sensitivity to these 'everyday' urban problems. However, there is no doubt that the truly sensitive often feel uncomfortable in cities. Open spaces, green valleys and mountains inspire them. They feel energized near seashore or a flowing river. Their 'energy field ' feels alive and filled with 'finer' energies.
A sensitive person does not feel comfortable when seated between two people. In a cinema hall, such an individual opts to sit at the end of a row or near the exit point. They usually avoid crowds; they don't like to be at parties where there are too many people. They cannot tolerate anyone very near them or behind them. They don't like to go to places like the market or discotheque with high sound decibels. They usually prefer gentle, soothing music. Sensitive people have an expanded personal energy field. So they feel uncomfortable when someone gets too near them, invading their personal space.

They usually like raw foods like salads, as these foods are full of life energy. They prefer organic foods, as foods with pesticides don't suit them. They may avoid eating in silver or aluminum vessels. In fact, some prefer mud vessels. They may find the heat from a regular iron stove intolerable as compared to that from stonework one.
They like cotton apparel. Synthetic clothes drain their energy. Also, they don't usually tolerate a lot of jewellery on their body. People of this nature are sensitive to magnets. So they may not be able to use cell phones or cordless phones for a long time as the electromagnetic pollution from these instruments easily affects them. They may feel uncomfortable using
the computers too. They prefer a well-ventilated room to an air-conditioned one. They dislike tall buildings, preferring to live on the ground floor. Some may even suffer from fear of closed spaces, like elevators, cars and airplanes.

Sensitive people usually have the power to heal others. They are kind-hearted individuals driven by a desire to heal and help. They are able to learn many aspects of healing and healing therapies faster than others. However they must first learn to accept their 'sensitivity', to control and live with it without getting overwhelmed or drained.
Sensitive healers are like transformers of energies. They transform a patient's negative energies into positive healing ones. However, they do have to be careful. They should not get emotionally involved with their patients because this might drain them. Also, often in such situations, the transference of symptoms - from patient to healer - is common. That is, if you treat a patient for backache, you might get a backache yourself. So the patient improves, but at the cost of the healer. Such incidents are the outcome of the transference phenomenon. Therefore it is said: 'Physician, heal thyself'.

Healers should learn to work on their 'higher selves' in order to protect themselves from the transference of symptoms. They should learn to say 'no', avoid over-work, watch their 'ego' and not be over-anxious to cure everybody. They should remember that they are merely the medium through which God's energy heals. This will help them to accomplish healing from their higher self, which does not get exhausted or drained.
